Your First Steps in Network Marketing is a self-paced study program designed for the newcomer to the industry.

This is available both as a multi-media package with a spiral workbook and six audiocassettes or as an e-book accessible online with full-color workbook and six audio programs.

It is a 20-module home-study course with workbook and accompanying audios to take you step by step through the process of building your business.

The secret to success in any endeavor is to undertake the project in small enough baby steps to make each stage attainable for the majority of people. That is exactly what this program achieves. Module 4: Personal Development Plan

  1. Assess your perceptions of your skills in building a Network Marketing business
  2. Create your Personal Development Plan based on the areas that most need attention

Module 5: Mapping Your Network

  1. Compile a list of 100 personal contacts to make up your prospective team roster
  2. Evaluate your contacts narrowing them down to your top 25 preferred partners

Module 6: Identifying Goals

  1. Looking at your life patterns, determine your preeminent purpose in life
  2. Create a vision statement for your personal life and business goals
  3. Pay attention to the obstacles that stand in the way of your success and transpose them into affirmation statements

PART II. ORGANIZING YOUR BUSINESS

Module 7: Designing Your Business Plan

  1. Translate your goals into a daily action plan for your first 120-day launch
  2. Use the progress chart provided for measuring your results

Module 8: Scheduling Your Time

  1. Use your daily planner for organizing and balancing your personal and business life
  2. Prioritize those activities that are most important to you

Module 9: Creating A Tracking System

  1. Create a manual or electronic system for monitoring your contacts
  2. Determine what follow-up action to take with each prospective partner

Module 10: Private Business Strategy Session

  1. Share your goals and action plan with your sponsor reinsuring your readiness to begin
  2. Confirm your approach and level of commitment to the business
  3. A 12-point process to help you in turn prepare your new associates to get started

PART III. PREPARING TO LAUNCH

Module 11: Methods For Sharing Your Products

  1. Know when and how to mention your product line to those you are approaching
  2. Detailed guidelines provided for retailing distributors

Module 12: Accessing Your Team Support

  1. Become familiar with the strengths and schedule of each upline team member
  2. Learn how to use 3-way calling to solicit help in closing serious prospective partners

Module 13: Practicing Your Approach

  1. Write out your template e-mail for sending to prospective associates
  2. Prepare and role-play your phone script for approaching your prospective associates

PART IV. DUPLICATION AND LEVERAGE

Module 14: Contacting Prospects
It is now time to take action:

  1. Approach your 25 preferred business partners by e-mail, phone, CD business card or in person
  2. Use a standardized message inserting a personalized opening

Module 15: Providing Business Briefings

  1. Invite your prospective associates to visit your website
  2. Link them directly to your business briefing which covers relevant points
  3. Ask them to e-mail you back with their reaction
  4. Follow-up with a phone call

Module 16: Presenting The Business Opportunity

  1. Invite prospective partners to join in on a company or upline presentation - either a teleconference call or Internet conferencing - explaining the business opportunity
  2. Following the call, determine their readiness to enroll or need to know more
  3. If local prospects are not yet ready to join after that call, be prepared to conduct a business opportunity meeting in your home

Module 17: Sending Out Cassette Packages
Know how to get a commitment from your prospective associate to preview a cassette package and use suggested phone scripts based on whether

  1. They're long-distance and not ready to join after the teleconference call
  2. They're local and unwilling to attend your home meeting
  3. They have attended your home meeting but were not ready to join

Module 18: Answering Questions

  1. Via 3-way calling, solicit the help of your sponsor and/or upline in answering the questions of your prospective business partners
  2. Move toward closing by inviting them to enroll
  3. Introduce them to the product if you hit a roadblock for having them join the business

Module 19: Exploring Options
Assist your prospective associates in making a decision to become a:

  1. Full or part-time business builder - focused primarily on building a business
  2. Retailing distributor - focused primarily on selling the products/services
  3. Preferred customer - a customer in your organization who orders the products or services at a special rate directly from the company
  4. Retail customer - orders the products/services at retail directly from you
  5. Connector - offers you referrals

Module 20: Product Usage

  1. Get all of the above committed to ordering and using the products and/or services
  2. Where possible, create product users who in turn encourage others onto the products
  3. Creating loyal product users is the key to passive residual income

Now that you have enrolled new partner(s) into your business and introduced them to your product or service line, you are ready to have them begin at the beginning with Module 1 of this workbook. You are now prepared to teach them to duplicate this simple system and begin sponsoring their first new business partner(s).
